I certainly agree with you. I see no reason for consumers to jump into 32M, 64M, or any higher DRAM, when they can do just fine with 16M.

These days, everyone seems to be hitting Micron with anything they get hands on. Allegation such as Micron is not fast enough converting to 16M or to 8" fab are very common. Do you all think Micron would have been in better shape now had it been producing 16M or 64M? I don't think so! There are already high flying semi companies doing just that and they are in no better position than Micron. The whole semi industry is suffering and Micron happens to be one of the victims in the crowd. Even the giant Samsung is expected to post a loss in coming quarters..why just blame Micron? It is not Micron's fault that DRAM price is faaling or world is flooded with DRAM.
