Richard,

Ignoring troublemakers is one way to get rid of them, but it certainly isn't the most effective, or necessarily the best way, to get rid of them. In many cases, ignoring the perpetrator simply seems to spur them on.

Here's an analogy--one can ignore an oncoming tornado. The tornado might go away. But does ignoring it cause it to go away? On the other hand, there just might be prudent steps one can take other than ignoring a tornado. See what I mean?

What those prudent steps might be--I'm not sure. That's why I set up this site--to hopefully come up with some ideas beyond the obvious.

I just don't think it's quite as easy as simply ignoring someone who posts menacing words, or graphics. I've ignored several posters during the past few months, but they didn't go away.
