Thank you, I've got some numbers from DATAQUEST FOR YOU!!!

Investors Busines Daily - Thursday, May 30, 1996 A8
Source: Dataquest, Inc.

Cable Modems - Internet surfers seeking faster ways to access video and data will fuel the cable modem market

Annual Shipments of cable modems, (IN MILLIONS)

1995 - bar to small to read
1996 - maybe about 20 million
1997 - about 80 million
1998 - about 200 million
1999 - about 550 million
2000 - about 900 million

Cumulative Shipments (IN BILLIONS)

1995 - bar to small to read
1996 - maybe about 80 million
1997 - about 200 million
1998 - about 350 million
1999 - about 900 million
2000 - about 1.75 BILLION

Why are these numbers so much HIGHER than the previous numbers published by Dataquest?

Then they show a chart with the different access speed of Standard 14.4Kbps, ISDN 56Kbps and Cable Modem 4Mbps - We all know how that looks in terms of speed (short animation 72 megabit download would take 1.4 hours, 21.5 minutes and 18 seconds)

On the bottom of the page they have the following article:

TVs Go Net Surfing

PCs soon will share the Internet with televisions, if Zenith Electronics Corp. has its way.

Last week, the Glenview I.., firm unveiled two interative TV sets with Internet-access technology developed with software maker Diba Inc. Zenith showed the sets at the Consumer Electronics Show in Orlando, Fla.

The so-called NetVision technology will let users browse the Web and access e-mail, said Zenith officials etc.....
