To All: It might help to think of troublemakers as a disease process.
Some diseases are truly best dealt with by ignoring the process if at all possible. For example, some human viruses and other afflictions aren't treatable, other than symptomatically. However, most disease processes can be effectively altered with the application of known and tested remedies.

Within the realm of activities troublemakers on SI threads can cause, I'm not sure we have any remedy, and I think we are on the leading edge of developing new concepts--much as medicine and dentistry were developing new treatment concepts 100+ years ago. 100+ years ago, for example, people had to endure infections without the benefit of antibiotics. What we need is an "antibiotic", so to speak, for perpetrators who infect SI threads. Ignoring an "infection" isn't the answer.
