You know for a man that is highly intelligent I wonder what your agenda is... But we will play this game if you want ... any way you want it. It is very popular to criticize cyanide. However, cyanide is biodegradable* and as long as it is used under proper guidelines it is no big deal.* Ok it is biodegradable so why is it getting banned. Hmmm. Cyanide Cyanide is a poisonous substance that is widely used in mining and other industrial processes. The most common form of cyanide is hydrocyanic acid (HCN) which is used in recovering ore, in electroplating and for fumigation. Other forms are sodium cyanide, potassium cyanide and calcium cyanide. All are found in the form of a salt, but can be dissolved in water to form a liquid or a gas. Hmmmm... Gold mines have an interest in making sure cyanide doesn't escape, by using containment systems and recycling the water. The rules governing the operation vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction and are often not as stringent in the developing world. Hmmm... wonder why there are governmental to govern cyanide from escaping. So what if this HGP works? You did read the report where it passed in California. Maybe not... that would go against your agenda. :-) GB
