Every software stock I tried generated a Sell Signal (NOVL, MSFT, NETA etc.). And all of them generated stronger sell signals than SYMC. The general trend in the Tech Sector is down. Just about three weeks ago we were setting new highs in the Nasdaq - it was up 30+% for the year. Now it has given up about 40% of those gains for the year. Naturally, everything is in a downtrend and the technical indicators reflect that.

I think that SYMC can easily weaken from here. But if the market rallies, SYMC should garner much larger gains than the overall market. Rob Owens of Pacific Crest Securities has a 12 month price target of $46. But then SYMC has never behaved as I've expected over the last decade.
