what you're suggesting doesn't really require more than one extra link on a message page, It looks like..as I think Bryan indicated..the file message option is already in the works. From the FAQ Simply click on the "file" link in the post, and you will be prompted to the folders page with a list of boxes. Check the box in which you want to archive the post, and it will be available to read when you access that folder in the future. No wonder Bryan thought it was a good idea!<g> Hopefully they will change the color of the link from white to black so we can see it;) It seems like just a small step to give an option to make a folder public....well, I am sure that proper implementation will require some quality programming efforts.
