About Y2K movie being stopped...
excerpt-
As things stand, if you want to get to the truth about Y2K, the
Internet is the place to find it. Check out Y2K Newswire's essay
called Y2K Disconnect. It describes "a mysterious psychology that
allows people of all walks of life to selectively ignore a mountain of
evidence that Y2K is not only unsolved at this moment -- it is
unsolvable in the time remaining." It lists 36 instances, such as: "If
Y2K were solved, the [Federal Aviation Administration] would have
tested all airport and en route radar control systems rather than just
the Denver systems. "

Or read how it discovered the North American Electric Reliability
Council has been feeding boilerplate passages to its members for
media consumption. The group has a fascinating essay on how media
organizations have scuttled Y2K coverage. Typically, it writes, some
Y2K programmer in a company informs a journalist about some
discrepancy between Y2K remediation and the official corporate spin
on the firm's Y2K readiness. The editors take the scoop and contact
the senior manager at the corporation and mutually decide there is no
discrepancy. End of story.
