I also realize that I have no right to tell people how to prepare or what to do here. I am sincerely hoping for the best. If the worst occurs, my family's will to live would be devastated.

I see no point in building an Ark, like Noah did, as some people on this thread are doing. If the worst case scenario takes place and the grid goes down and many people die from lack of preparation, Life will become less meaningful to me and my family.

I don't think I'd want to live if the World went under and most people died as a result of this crisis.

Rarebird, Do yourself and family a favor and read this excerpt from your post. I usually assume people are sinciere in posting their views. (it's the Pollyanna in me showing) It's one thing to think that the worlds computers are gonna freeze up and there will be a global depression, it's quite another to say that you and your kids would not want to live. Are you teaching your children this gloom and doom? Do you realize how damaging it is to kids to instill this kind of fear in kids? I assume you are sinciere. If I promise to sell my AOL stock on Monday will you promise stop fishing thru all those "Y2K THE END IS UPON US" articles you keep posting all over SI.

BTW If the world does'nt come to an end Jan. 1 2000 you have a good start on a swimming pool. D.H.
