Rarebird. "I have not judged you for not preparing". Thanks. That makes me feel a lot better.

"5,000 gallons of Poland Spring Water". I like the German Spring Water better. gg. But nothing wrong with hoarding that much Spring Water I guess if you believe there could be enough bottled Spring Water left for all of us if everyone heeds your advice.

"I have not withdrawn all my money from the banks or brokerage accounts". Good idea. Gold and cash under Mattress: That could vanish faster than anything else. But then I heard that the crime rate is a lot better now in NY under this mayor and you have it probably buried anyhow.

All in all I was not too worried about Y2K and the stock market. But if there are lots of people out there subscribing to the same theory you have, there will be an awful lot of buying going on before the year ends. One poster already said that he has a lot of buying to do after your post!?. I don't want to put a ggg here. What will this do to inflation? But I agree. Stacking up for a cpl of weeks may not hurt. Six months? Yes, that would make for a bad Y2K. Everybody would probably be consuming in the first 6 months of 2000 what they bought in 1999 and the economy would be slowing down. Oh my. NOW I KNOW WHY YOU ARE SO BEARISH. Greenspan better not raise interest rates now. Every person has their right to their own fears. But. Ever heard of the Radio message: The Martians are coming, the Martians are coming?

I hope you feel better about this whole situation as closer we come to Y2K. At this point I'd rather be an optimist than a pessimist when it comes to Y2K. Life is a lot easier that way. You see, I live by the quote: You only live once, enjoy it.

Sonny
