Hi, JP! I don't know where you are living, but it sounds like a big city, and a bit urban-edgy. I do hope you are okay. I always think of you in the country in a pick-up truck, although surrounded by some of the luxuries money can buy at the same time.
I still have "The Magician's Tale" on our list of books to buy, but it is so warm and beautiful here right now that I am finding it hard to get past the magazine rack at Borders, which stretches on forever. My concentration span seems very brief and summery at the moment. I have been reading "The Mermaids Singing" by a young Irish American writer, Lisa Carey. It is about three generations of dysfunctional Irish women. I have been reading it for a month, and am on page 195. It's moving kind of slow!!!! However, I have read DOZENS of interesting magazines, and am also attempting to plow through "Get Out of My Life, but First Could You Drive Me and Cheryl to the Mall: A Parent's Guide to the New Teenager", by Anthony E. Wolf, Ph.D. This is semi-required mom reading.
I am listening a lot to Ophelia, by Natalie Merchant. I know that it did not get the wonderful reviews that Tiger Lily did, but it grew on me really fast. It is what I calm down with usually on the drive home after work.
What are you reading/doing/listening to? |
