Rarebird,

The last time I checked, the thread was named "Gold Price Monitor", NOT "Gold Price Cheerleader"... or "Goldbug Gulch"... or something to the effect that only gold lovers can post here. The intent is to monitor the price of gold and observe how it reacts under various economic conditions. You have only to go to the opening post on this thread to see how you are out of line in trying to harangue the "Anti-Midas" faction from posting here.

Subject 15208

Why do you continue to try to pidgeon hole me as a Fed Lover? The Fed is a group of men deciding monetary policy, JUST LIKE the JP Morgan's of the world used to do UNDER the gold standard.

I'm amazed that you have yet to understand how monetary decisions ALWAYS ULTIMATELY come down to human decision makers, not some innocuous yellow metal. Gold can't protect itself or retain value against the decisions of men.

Weren't Central Bankers the ones who have always decided how many dollars are tied to an ounce of gold or it value in the open market?

Weren't Central bankers in control of the gold market as well under the gold standard??

And btw, how are you privy to what price gold will have to be ($1,000) before Greenspan intervenes and leases gold??

That a pretty amazing prediction in the face of golds performance over the past several decades. Besides, wouldn't the CBs be keeping their "powder" dry in expectation of such a massive move in gold??

Amazing.
