Outlook Express spelling check .... missing
When I originally posted, I assumed you weren't sure how to find the spelling options in OE. Now I understand that they're missing on your system.
I checked my Registry for the key you provided. I expected a simple, one or two line key would remedy the situation. As you know, the easiest and safe way to do Registry stuff is to Export what you have into a file, make changes to the file, and Import the changed file back into your Registry. I was surprised to find that after exporting this key the file was about 150 lines long. I was hoping to provide you with a line or two you could use. Looking at the keys in the file, they deal with software beyond OE: Quite reasonable for 'shared' keys. Obviously, these keys were placed in my Registry by more than one install program; hence, they'd be unusable on another system, and nothing to gain by posting them. As well, since I'm using version 4.72, they may introduce more problems than they solve.
Back to your system. If you have no trace of the key(s) Microsoft's talking about, you can assume they're missing on your system. In that case, you must add them. Make it easy -- Export a 'similar' key to a file. Edit the file and make the similar key match your missing key, including the subkey stuff. Import this file and you'll now have the new key in your registry.
If it doesn't work, use REGEDIT to delete the new, defective, key.
Be sure to back-up your Registry before attempting changes.
Cheers, PW.
