first of all what surplus? As for farm subsidies.. I would prefer that the tax makers cut loop holes for huge corporations -I didn't read the journal piece this week about how many corporations paid no taxes.. I don't know how the government can curtail the conglomerates activities..also I get extremely conflicted because I too believe in less government..since it turns out to be cronyism at its worse.. I guess I would hope that small farmers start forming coops and put out information concerning their standards of raising their animals versus the conditions in the conglomerates.. they should use the internet to put out pictures of the conditions on their farms and on comglomerates's facilities they should get the attention of news media if possible and show the difference in prices ... I don't think the government should get involved..but I think if the citizens don't speak up..there go the small farmers ...who aren't creative and combative
