Re: Cabletel (AMEX: TTV). Glad to hear insiders have been buying shares of Cabletel. I've been following the company for some time and think it has excellent growth prospects. It is positioned to realize accelerating earnings growth as Canadian cable operators upgrade their infrastructure to meet competitive challenges from DBS and other sources. Cabletel's acquisition of Antec's Canadian distribution business in August '96 has broadened it product line helping Cabletel to better service and grow its market share among the larger Canadian operators. The acquisition should also improve operating efficiency, so Cabletel's earnings should really shine as infrastructure spending increases in Canada. Last quarter's results showed strong gains with sales up 69% year over year and operating income up 111%. I think the stock now at 4 3/4 is very cheap in light of its excellent prospects and have been accumulating it.

I'm very interested in more info on the insider buying. For investors wanting to discuss Cabletel, I've established a separate thread on the company within the Communications Board.
