Is your yard alive?

I had not realized how serious the drought was until I watched the news last night. They blame it on the deep pool of cold water that lingers off the west coast. Temperatures are 4 or 5 degrees below normal.

It is expected to stay around which means that the Pacific Northwest will experience another wet winter and spring. In Seattle, it rained for 90 straight days last winter.

June was wet! Ugh! And it was a hectic month. I spent a couple of weeks in Costa Rica, courtesy of American Airlines, Frequent-Flyer Program. We had two, free, first-class round-trip tickets. I was in the rain forest for a week! The diversity of bird life was the best at this spot. And it really rained, more than usual. I am not a birder so I wouldn't go back there. Butt housemate is and he enjoyed it very much. He also found a boa constrictor curled up on the ground. It wasn't hungry. Fortunately.

Weather is mild and lovely now. I enjoy the lazy summer days, even though the market is crazy.

Hope you & C have found time for a break.

Best wishes,

Mephisto
