The problem I see is that even the Libertarian party often aren't libertarian. I have met very few people who are libertarian when it is their own ox being gored.

Have you read the wonderful book by Nat Hentoff "Free Speech for Me but Not for Thee"? It's one of the must truly libertarian books I've every read.
