Jim - Thanks for your thorough explanation of this matter. Would you conclude that perhaps they exercised options at this time because the difference between the option price and current market price is lower than it has been recently, thus making their tax less? In other words, if they waited longer, the stock might be higher and it would cost them more to convert.
