H.R. 400 AND OTHER THINGS

The segment on CNBC featuring Dr. Damadian went off as
planned. The afternoon segment aired at 2:00 PM E.S.T.
rather than 1:30 PM, but CNBC did a nice job of
editing. Also on Wednesday, Dr. Damadian was
interviewed by several other stations at a press
conference called by New York Congressman Michael
Forbes, (R) Quogue, NY. CBS News Radio 88 in New York
City featured Dr. Damadian during its news program that
day. On Thursday, News 12 Long Island played an
interview of Dr. Damadian each hour during the day.

The focus of all this was H.R. 400, a bill before
Congress, which some call "The 21st Century Patent
Giveaway Act" and also "The Steal American Technology
Act." We would like to appeal to our investors to take
up the fight against H.R. 400. When you read the bill
in its entirety, you realize that it was written by
foreign companies and governments (mostly Japanese) and
some of our own U.S. big corporations. In Congress it
is supported by well financed PACs (Political Action
Committees). It will not benefit, nor is it backed by,
America's legitimate inventors.

If this bill passes, those who depend on the American
patent for survival will be in extreme jeopardy. So
please join us at FONAR by calling your Congressional
representatives and tell them to VOTE AGAINST H.R. 400.

In other news, congratulations to Dr. Damadian for
being awarded the 1996 Clinical MRI Gold Medal for
services to Magnetic Resonance. The Gold Medals are
presented by an international panel to renowned
researchers who have advanced the clinical role of
magnetic resonance on a broad front. (It's about time
the Father of MRI got some international recognition!
Wouldn't you say?)

A very happy Easter holiday to you all.
