We put NOPT on our ascendant list because it was the first adopter of AllWave fiber, a major Lucent innovation that neither Lucent nor the rest of the world seems to have sufficiently recognized; it is a pioneer in using the optical ground wire of the electrical utilities as a broadband link to the net; and it is signing up most of the large bandwidth university customers in the NorthEast.
