AT&T Says to Honor Exclusivity Pact With Exciteathome
(article to follow)
biz.yahoo.com

What a lot of bull this AT&T/AOL crap news was today. I wouldn't doubt it originated from NYT. Worst paper on the planet, imho. I see a gap on AOL at 64. I hope they fill it when the real story sinks in.

RE: T's Response

In response to inquiries, AT&T today reiterated its
views regarding its relationship with Excite@Home

Business Wire - August 09, 1999 14:29

BASKING RIDGE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 9, 1999--In response to inquiries, AT&T today reiterated its views regarding its relationship with Excite@Home:

We respect and will honor our current contract with Excite@Home, including its exclusivity provisions.

We will continue to work closely with Excite@Home to make all Internet content available over broadband as easily and directly as possible.

We will continue to pursue the Internet model of free and ready access to portals. We remain opposed to any form of government regulation of the Internet or Internet access.

We remain open to any discussions with other ISPs and OSPs regarding possible commercial relationships upon the expiration of our current contract with Excite@Home. We anticipate a long-term relationship with Excite@Home.

While there have been meetings with America Online in the recent past, there is no specific proposal currently under discussion between AT&T and AOL.
