Well, they took the thousand tons of reactor core out of the Trojan Nuclear plant this week and are barging it up the Columbia.

Man, that was a good investment. I think it was only about two billion, not the four and five the WPPS plants were costing. And I think it was turned on for like maybe an hour, before PGE said it was ruined.

"Corrosion problems."

They figured they could fix those for 150 million, even thought they weren't designed to be fixed at all (gee), but that it just wasn't worth it because there were so many other problems.

Well, that worked good.

A feat of engineering and planning.

Sometimes I wish we could talk to the guys who sold it to us and who ridiculed questions of it's longevity and cost feasibility.

BTW, I don't have real environmental problems with nukes, run by say another, more advanced species; but it's the actual net-energy production/cost that startles me. I doubt the entire nuclear program will produce energy.

By the time we're done.
