I just spoke with a former major Bank executive. He was in charge of technology purchasing and was one of the few people I knew who was familiar with Checkfree. Last year He was negative on it for management and staff related reasons. His opinion was contradicted by a contemporaneous article in "Money" or one of the other major magazines. I continued holding and buying much more Checkfree. The executive above referred to has been outsourced by the bank to a major software company. He says many of these companies are now trying to get into EBPP. He says that Checkfree's problem now will be their inability to compete financially with the other players. Maybe the market is telling us the same thing.
