I guess here's my question - and it isn't offered rhetorically, but rather in pure curiosity. I don't have the answer. Can we presume that having children is an inalienable right? When we find ourselves sharing a limited pool of vital resources, would it be wise to breed unchecked except by natural disaster? Procreation is the highest expression of the Prisoner's Dilemma. If we all try to win that game, we all lose. Maybe. Probably even. How do we attack this issue rationally? More than rationally - wisely?
