Gold in plutonic rocks is a common setting in most Archean camps. Some of these plutonic-hosted deposits are very large (>1 million ounces of gold). The Rod claims west of Yellowknife saw some production during the 80's from the plutonic rocks. It has always intrigued me why there has been no concerted effort to examine this potential in Yelloknife. Perhaps we should do something about this...a JV perhaps? It's a great target, good models exist, and there is a fair bit of smoke.

I'll talk to DGD Monday.
