"So unless I am missing something, it looks to me like AMD once again posted ambigious benchmarks from an unavailable motherboard." Some motherboard makers are using AMD's reference design which is the same motherboard design used in the benchmarks. "As for vendors, it appears that Compaq has confirmed they will offer an Athlon system however it isn't available now." Nope. When it is available, that system will be built to order only. "I can't find an IBM press release announcing support." PCMagazine.com tested an IBM Athlon system. The press release will come eventually. "That link clearly states systems are expected to be available August 27th..." Oh. I got an earlier e-mail from them saying they only have 403 motherboards left. I guess that was from the amount they have left after they ordered. "Announcement after announcement but no Athlon." Yes, "June" is still just around the corner.
