Mani, if the Athlon comes out at 650MHz next week (not likely), do you really think that Joe Public will pay a whole lot more for an Athlon than he is willing to pay for Intel's 450MHz PIII CPU?

Will retail buyers pay far more to jerk up their 70fps Quake scores to a 100fps test result that they can not see? And what portion of the public actually edits 100MB Photoshop images?

Beyond the techies who visit Sharkey Extreme and Anand each month, does anyone actually care? And, how many of those budget-minded techies will soon trash their overclocked 300MHz Celerons for anything that costs real money?

IMHO, the answer to these questions will determine AMD's future.
