POKEMON SYCD recently entered the profitable Pokemon business, and is expected to begin delivery of their products in August to Pioneer (NASDAQ: PIO) for retail distributution. Pokemon is going to be THE X-mas craze this year, with a movie by Warner Bros. due out in Nov, and a lot of firms currently in the process of co-branding Pokemon into their merchandising efforts. Here is a link to products that will be offered by SYCD: pioneerplaza.com
These Pokemon toys and products that TOMY is providing SYCD with to wholesale out will creat a financial boon for SYCD througout the Fall and Winter. A lot of them are new figures, and they could be the ones in the upcoming movie. However, Pokemon is not the only 'event' ongoing at Syconet.com.
ANIME SyCoNet.com distributes Anime Japanese animated movies, live action cult films, multimedia games and software, toys, apparel, and related merchandise to retail and consumer markets nationwide through two high-traffic websites, a catalog, and direct sales campaigns. Anime is the formal name for Japanese animation, the first of which was introduced into the American market about ten years ago through the television show Speed Racer. Today's Anime has evolved into spectacular 3-D graphical figures with storylines that would probably shock the average individual raised with Marvel or D.C. Comic figures.
SYCD has alliances with 15 Anime manufacturers and distributors, including Central Park Media, A.D. Vision, Viz Communication, Irwin Toys (one of the largest manufacturers of toys, statues, and action figures), ADV Films, and MGM's Orion Pictures. Disney also has a strong presence in the Anime market, but SYCD though only a penny stock is already recognized as a force in the Video entertainment market: dvdreview.com ....................................................................................................................................................................................................... REVENUES: The market for Anime in the United States has grown from $5.5 million in 1989 to a substantial $350 million in 1997. If predictions hold true, this market will top the half billion dollar mark in the Year 2000. SyCo has positioned itself as the ONLY company that is focusing in on the distribution of this rapidly growing portion of the entertainment dollar. The company is in advanced negotiations with 2 major mass market retailers to provide a full line of Anime to both of these multi-billion dollar retail chains. Deliveries in excess of 80,000 units per month are currently being discussed which would add $4 million to revenues overnight. Pokemon is expected to provide instant revenue, and make up about 30% of ongoing sales, beginning in August. Sy Robert Picon (CEO) has stated that revenue figures are expected to be in the $4-5 million range for this year. The company has no debt, and about 500k in cash reserves. Wholesale distribution and retail internet sales are generated at two sites, with at least two new sites (one of them devoted to Pokemon) to be added soon: wholesale: sycodistribution.com retail: altvidwar.com
In addition, will be attending five Anime comic book conventions being held across the U.S. in July and August. Alternative Video Warehouse will be attending the following trade shows: Dragoncon 7/1-7/4 in Atlanta, GA, Otakon 7/2 - 7/4 in Baltimore, MD, Anime Expo, 7/16 -7/18 in Anaheim, CA, Wizard World 7/16-7/18 in Chicago, IL and Comicon 8/10-8/15 in San Diego, CA. Sy Picon, chief executive officer of SyCoNet.com, commented, "We are eagerly anticipating these events as a way to bring substantial exposure to our discounted Anime products. We expect our participation will bring in phenomenal sales and increase traffic to our warehouse retail web site." Alternative Video Warehouse is participating in roughly 25 conventions nationwide during 1999. The Company is also part of the Amazon.com Associates Program and has solid relationships with Pioneer Electronic and Polygram Entertainment, which add quality music, DVDs, and laser discs to SyCoNet.com's product offering. ............................................................................................................................................................................................................. OUTLOOK: SI's Fatt Matt, when recently reccomending SYCD, said: "SYCD appears to be focusing more on the ANIME market, as it seems to be the most open for capitalization upon. This is an untapped market from what I can see. Plenty of room to grow and no REAL competitors." With a current float of approx 2.15 million shares, and a majority of that held by under 20 shareholders, SYCD has the potential of really moving up quick, especially if they are able to capitalize on the Pokemon mania, and capture a significant part of the retail Anime market share. Off of the announcement that SYCD was entering the Pokemon market,share-price jumped to an intra-day level of $1 the 52 week low and high is .19 and 1.80 With further agreements and sales currently being genterated, the current ask of .55-.62 is an excellent entry point.
*O.I.G* gives SYCD these Pirce Targets: Short-term: $1.25, Mid-term: $5, Long-term: $10
