Wu, Had not seen Reuters wire, buy I attended the meeting myself.

Really helped me get a scientific dose full of the DHA/ARA issue by
listening to the PHDs from around the world discuss the issue.
Martek speaker was Dr. Kyle, head of Martek R&D, who spoke of all
the studies which supported use of DHA/ARA for infant development.
Another strong supporter not mentioned in Reuters article was a researcher from NIH who said in effect the panel would be derelict if they didn't recommend inclusion of DHA/ARA in formula.

I think there is ample evidence for formula companies to move ahead,
but I wish the Ross people were more muted on the issue. While Martek
says (not in public statements) that Ross opposition is really an
economic one, I only heard them give technical statements in their
testimony. Obviously if the real reason is economic, they couldn't
come out and say so. If real reason is economic, the speakers from Ross
have technically prostituted themselves in their objections..

best regards Bill
