The Angels are 46-64 and last in the American League West. They suffered a 9-3 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Sunday in front of 31,664 fans at Edison Field.
As a Red Sox fan, with the Red Sox in a big fight with Toronto & Oakland for AL East wildcard slot, I am most appreciative of the pathetic play of Anaheim. Sox took 3 of 4 with relative ease, Anaheim rolled over and played dead in the previous game of the series as well, final score something like 14-3. If I was a DIS shareholder I would be most UNinpressed with this investment. Sports teams are more of a trophy business than a money-maker AFAIK. They should take a page from BUD strategy, they shed Cardinals ownership long ago, raking in the bucks on two core businesses: beer and theme parks. Selling off non-strategic assets, though, would help...I think...
While Disney is at spinning off their net assets, how about they throw in ABC to boot?
Last note: DIS listed in latest Worth as one of 10 stocks to avoid. The analyst who made the picks this issue gave a fair value for DIS of $22. FWIW...at some point I will probably pick up some DIS, but not yet... |
