Norm, You really do a GREAT job in posting details.... I have been following all of the questions and called our local fuel distributor here in Lake Havasu, Arizona... I am told: #1 diesel is used in home fuels, or enclosed generator use. It is highest refined grade of diesel aside from aviation grade. #2 diesel is used in autos and trucks, machinery etc. Current proce is $ .92 + applicable sales tax (for off road - which is dyed red or other color to distinguish between over the road which is clear and priced at $ 1.40 at the pump including hwy and other taxes). By the way, there is a $ 10,000 fine and persons are unable to purchase diesel fuel for 1 year for those caught trying to use off road (lower taxed ) fuel vs on road fuel. #3 diesel is lower grade fuel used in locomotives and other areas where lower quality is acceptable.. Am told that most ALL diesel fuels are currently "low sulfer"... That's it folks!! Frank
