On Thursday, Aug 5 in Reply #6828 you said:

"Vague but valid question...With the royalty game "in place", is AWRE a paper tiger or real?? Call me not knowing enough facts to believe..."

My reply was in post #6823 on Friday, Aug 6

"It will depend on the willingness, ability and success of ADI, ST Microelectronics, Infineon, NEC, Lucent and others to market their products using Aware's technology. Some of ADI's customers have been ADC, Advanced Fibre Communications, Ascend (bought by LU), Cisco, Diamond Lane, Efficient Networks, Ericsson, Newbridge Networks, Philips, Pulsecom, Samsung and Sumitomo. Lucent has Compaq, Zoom, 3Com/USRobotics and others as customers. Nortel and Siemens are Aware licensees. So the potential is definitely existent for good revenues from royalties."

I stand by my reply to your "paper tiger" question in that it shows there exists marketing potential and strengths for selling Aware's technology. It is evidence which shows Aware has aligned a set of allies who are large enough to be considered potent adversaries to Alcatel. I agree that Aware is not big enough to go toe-to-toe with Alcatel, however, they have approached the problem with a viable strategy. My reply also mentions willingness and success being required of these companies in their marketing to benefit Aware in regard to royalties revenue.

You then said on Sunday, Aug 8 in post #6824

"Scrapps, thanks for the response. While that is an impressive list of manufacturers behind the Lucent and ADI camps, I really do wonder if ADSL is sold by them it necessitates aware tech and therefore a royalty. No second guessing or wise guy question, but more of a ponder."

"Well than Lancelot while you ponder why not also do it with Orckit, Alcatel and others. then tell us what the ponder results are."

Here I believe you missed my point for pondering. Maybe I should have said "wondering" instead. You had said

"I really do wonder if ADSL is sold by them it necessitates aware tech and therefore a royalty."

You may want to "ponder" OR "wonder" if one can purchase a chipset...say from TXN and use Alcatels technology, or a Infineon chipset and use Amati technology, or a Conexent chipset and use Aware's technology. Can one buy technology from Orckit and use it in an ST Microelectronics chipset?

But as you are fully Aware...you have errored:

Lancelot: seems you challenged the unwritten rule of this thread.

Tho shalt not question thy Scrapps.
