Tencor is growing fast. They are building a huge world wide headct. in Milpitas, CA, in front of Quantum building. ... To be completed soon.

Let me pass more messages I heard from CFO's presentation to you:

1) The backlog is at record, 198 Mil.

2). Introduced more than 20 new products last year alone

3). New product completing with KLA is better than KLA's machine in the field. Some small feature KLA machine can not see they can see. KLA machine costs 2 Mil, Tencor machine costs half. 7 machine in the field already. Ramp up in 3-4 Q. KLA has 100% market share in patterned wafer inspection, but TNCR is entering this market.

4). The long term growth rate for TNCR's target is at 20%. Currently the actual one is 35%. They said that even the industry is slowing, they shall meet or exceed the long term objective.

5). The difference between KLA, Tncr and AMAT, LRCX is:

many existing fabs are upgrating their measurement eq. The more complex IC and biger wafer IC companies are doing, the more inspection eq. they needs. Every step, IC company needs to inspect. Therefore, Tencor thinks that they have better growth prespective than average semi-eq. co.

6). The ordering rate for current Qt. is slowing, but it is an industry wide trend.
