(800-475-6701 & key in #307119 after you're told to select a conference call)is the number to call to find out why this is a marriage made in heaven. NOTE: THIS MEETING'S PLAYBACK WILL BE AVAILABLE ONLY FRIDAY & SATURDAY. (thanks for the tip, Dan).

Adding on to Deepak's comments: The technologies fit together beautifully! That number is for the conference call held with the execs of the 2 companies, with a Q & A session following the announcements. Pay close attention to the responses, particularly regarding the positioning of the products, and you'll see how the forthcoming IP Switch will negatively affect the ATM & Frame Relay mfrs. I expect ASND to increase their share of the Internet market, already at 93% for the ISPs but also taking greater share of the telco equipment needs. Check it out - it's exciting!

Further note: while ASND's President says it's aimed only at the Internet market (and mentions a startup that's aiming at the Intranet/Lan market) there's nothing to stop ASND from going after the other market as well. With 10X speed from NTSR's software and the acquired security that ASND bought when they gobbled up Morningstar earlier this year plus their own bandwidth on demand, etc., the end product will be an awesome accomplishment and 5 miles ahead of any competitor's.
