Who is Piper Jaffray anyway.

piperjaffray.com

It's a Minneapolis company, but they've had a Pacific Northwest presence for years. Their analysts are the most-often mentioned in coverage of Northwest stocks. The regional influence was probably strengthened when the brokerage was bought by US Bank. The bank is now a Minneapolis company as well, but it includes what was once one of the largest PNW banks. Minneapolis-based First Bancorp bought out Portland-based US Bank a few years ago. Even though the Minneapolis company bought the Portland company, the name of the Portland company was applied to the combined operation.
