Michelle - looking at the insider selling data for PCLN on the Yahoo finance site, it appears that 3 Priceline Vice Presidents (Mark Benerofe, Thomas P. D'Angelo, and Melissa M. Taub) all filed to sell 50,000 shares of PCLN on July 20, 1999. Apparently in each case, the shares are restricted - I assume the shares were granted before the IPO.

It's interesting to see the sale of such large blocks of shares by a company's top managers so soon after the IPO - and it is a bit alarming (for Priceline) that they are all doing it at the same time. I would certainly interpret the action to mean they don't have faith in the stock. It is difficult to tell whether the 50,000 shares that each VP is selling represents their entire holdings (I would assume it doesn't - but no other significant amounts of shares are listed). You can find the data at:

biz.yahoo.com

I will most likely re-establish my PCLN short position after tomorrow's CSCO inspired rally.

Thanks,
-Eric
