A flight to quality from emerging and other foreign markets to the US certainly seems possible. I would expect the vast majority of this to go into treasuries, even if the US is doing well it is hard to imagine frightened foreigner's rushing their money into equities in any country. That of course is not to say that US stocks may not rally on their own if inappropriately driven down to a gift horse on y2k fears if fundamentals are sound at the time
