Didja know, that if you put a piece of kombu in a pot of beans, it rendereth them gasleth?

Kombu is referred to as "Nature's Beano." Beano works too, of course, but I think kombu works even better. Kombu is a seweed. You just toss in a hunk; it doesn't flavor it.

Had a huge bowl of navy beans on a recent assignment with complete safety.
