Hi Matthew: Here's another article regarding Novell's "Push" technology...
INFOWORLD NEWS: NOVELL USES NOVELL DIRECTORY SERVICE FOR PUSH

websmart.stocksmart.com:8810/ss-news/CX403353.html

I guess this technology will be positive but at some point the individual (or company) will get information overload. What really is the difference between the current definition of "Push" technology and just a sophisticated e-mail system? The concept of 'one-to-many' is the same with both types of systems. The argument in-favor of "push" technology is its capability to utilize innovative filtering and personal-profile information. However, from my analysis (and according to the Infoworld article) the 'key' component is in the user profile information which NDS catalogs and indexes very efficiently. Also, there is going to be quite a bit of debate as to who realy owns this information (ie. the personal-profile) and how it is protected.

EKS

By the way Matthew, did you realizae the PointCast is going to be bought out. Rumor has it that Rupert Murdock will be making an offer. Murdock just invested 1 Billion in 1/2 interest in DISH Network.
