OAK Getting Its Act Together?
With all of the management team changes, it looks like new life may be breathed into OAKT. What do you think? What do you make of Dr. Yu coming on OAKT's Board? I wonder why Intel would allow this?

Aug. 4, 1999--Oak Technology (Nasdaq:OAKT) today announced that Dr. Albert Y. C. Yu, senior Vice president of Intel Corporation, has joined the company's Board of Directors.
Dr. Yu has more than twenty-three years experience at Intel, where he currently oversees Intel's Microprocessor Products Group.
"We are pleased to have Albert join our Board of Directors," said Oak's President and CEO Young Sohn. "Under his leadership, Intel has experienced unprecedented success with microprocessor technology and multiple generations of Intel architecture products. His breath of experience in all of these areas will prove beneficial to Oak as we move forward with our turnaround strategy."
Throughout his tenure at Intel, Dr. Yu has held a number of senior management positions in manufacturing, technology development and general management. His current position as senior vice president of the Microprocessor Products Group includes responsibility for the company's Pentium (R) III processors, Pentium (R) III Xeon (TM) processors, Celeron (TM) processors, 64-bit processors as well as future product generations. Dr. Yu is also responsible for architecture, design technology, microcomputer software and the research labs at Intel. |
