Peter, Tek bought the original Grass Valley Group, Inc (GVG)
in 1974 (if I recall correctly).

GVG was "a Tektronix Company" until around '95 - '96 when it
was fully absorbed into the parent company. Then the group
became known as "Tektronix - Grass Valley Products".

As you can guess the name Grass Valley Group is a STRONG
brand name in the broadcast production business. That is
why the new investors wanted to keep that name. A brand
name means so much these days.

As far as Profile is concerned, I think a few posts back
someone stated is was going to be sold. That would make
sense to me, because it's a video product.
