Dave,
As one of the "youngest" of the first tier nets, it has not seen the stock price appreciation that others such as AOL and YHOO have, despite it's tremendous performance overall. While the more mature nets have experienced this growth over the past 2 years, GNET has accomplished this in 7-8 months.....all without much analyst coverage.
As for the term portal, GNET has worked hard to become much more than portal, but really a destination. By revamping SI, buying IQC charts, Dogpile as well as the other acquisitions, they are gaining market share (eyeballs)as evidenced by the rapid ascent up the MediaMetrix ranking list to #9. GNET is growing faster than the other nets in its' peer group and this should be reflected in the stock price. I, also, am awaiting the turning of the leaves, the crisp autumn air and a renewed enthusiasm for the market as the weightiness of this scorching summer finally dissipates.
