X, have any sexual references I've made offended you? I hope not. Whose else, besides Christopher's, have, if any? I mean, they are pretty rife on this thread and Rambi, complete with anatomical descriptiveness. I've heard sex talk and references, rather graphic, though don't ask me for URLs, please, from LOTS of people (you know who you are....)
Have you felt offended? This is important to clarify for everyone. Have others felt offended? I am sorry if I've been an offender. I've found others' comments amusing, usually.
Were you offended at the roasting-of- butchered- human- beings- and- eating- them posts? I didn't see them, but I gather they are referred to as though they were amusing, though it sounds unfunny to me. (As I say, I can't judge, not having seen them.)
I thought it was funny when Cobe said, waiting for a grub, "My nipples are hard." That's sexier than the parodic, Beltane-spirit foolishness CH was engaged in, to me. (Maybe a single line wouldn't fall into the same category as an extended mock-sexual romp.) I've seen many references to erections. I've seen the occasional reference to an orgasm, too. Maybe more on Rambi than here, though.
The thing is, it is feeling unfair to me that CH is being taken to task for his parody, comically intended ravishing, graphic though it was, when this thread and rambi often contain graphic sexual references. There has always been a lot of latitude here. "Dog doo" seems harsh, in reaction to play. (But if you were really offended, I understand it, because if you were disgusted and offended, it probably made you angry.)
Anyway, I've never been offended by any sexual reference or badinage, but clearly that doesn't mean others haven't. I think this would be an appropriate time for anyone who wants to tell others that they have been offended to do it. (Doesn't guarantee the offenders will stop; but hey, talk about your feelings anyway....)
NEW SUBJECT:
In a book called The End of Privacy it tells that if you go to
www.anywho.com
and click on Reverse Lookup, and put your telephone number there, it will tell you your name, and... what's more....
provide a map to where you live.
I tried it, and it provided a perfect little map to my tiny private road on the side of a mountain that Fedex can't find.
This means that anyone to whom you have ever given or will ever give your phone number to can find you.
This is unsettling. I'd say. |
