An evangelical end-of-the-worlder named Texe Marrs has said that Lucent Technologies is the vehicle whereby the anti-christ will gain his dominion. He says not only the company's name but its logo are dead giveaways. This was told to me by a follower of Mr. Marrs. I wanted to cut our conversation short, so I didn't pursue any details. Now I wish I had. I suspect the logo may resemble the old worm ourobous symbol used by alchemists, which is a circular depiction of a snake eating its own tail. I understand this guy has quite a following.
