With all respect to your admired belle, mine was a LOT different. Not even a trace of a drawl as I remember (and of course this was all written speech -- but it was very vivid). She didn't talk that way all the time -- just for purposes of illustrating that particular dialect. I haven't been in Yahoo chat in a LONG time but I checked last night and didn't see her name there -- Arktume.
