Swiss Retail Bank Chooses Anacomp's ImageSTAR Solution to Enhance

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Anacomp(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCO), a world leader in digital document-management solutions, today announced an agreement with Solothurner Bank (SoBa) of Switzerland to implement an integrated document-management system to provide delivery, retrieval, and storage of SoBa's customer account statements and financial reports.
SoBa, a private retail bank owned by United Bank of Switzerland, needed to consolidate 20 separate branch storage systems, containing 25 million documents, into one electronic storage and retrieval system. The new solution had to meet the highest standards for security, offer a response time of 15 seconds or less for all system inquiries made by the bank's 400 concurrent users, and it had to be rapidly deployed without any interruption in service to the bank's customers.
After a review of several vendors, SoBa selected Anacomp's ImageSTAR(R) solution. ImageSTAR is Anacomp's enterprise-wide digital document-management offering in the European market providing extensive capabilities in document acquisition, storage, and delivery. Under the agreement, Anacomp is implementing multiple components to manage all of SoBa's computer-generated customer documents (ASCII and IBM AFP). The solution includes a COLD application with host security which captures approximately 35,000 pages daily, the conversion of internal reports for long-term archive, and scanning and image-capture of all input documents. The system features customized browser interfaces for end users as well as powerful administration and scheduling tools, which manage all reports and customer documents while carrying out restart and backup functions.
SoBa has integrated ImageSTAR into its mailing operations for ease of distribution of statements and correspondence to customers. Anacomp's solution also includes a hold-mail application, which will significantly reduce the quantity of paper produced by the bank.
