Mike, I have a question for you. In the world of television, where is MSFT going to get its content?

MSFT is already in tight with NBC (See MSNBC). MSFT has a $30 Mill equity investment in Wink, and Wink is making arrangements with Fox and AT&T (which MSFT already has an equity investment in as well). After that, MSFT is in the same boat as IATV. Allegedly MSFT is developing an interactive client and server (which makes me wonder how devoted they will be to Wink, maybe Wink is their backup plan since $30 mill is pocket change to MSFT).

Where is IATV going to get their content? We have assumed all along that IATV had Fox locked up and Liberty locked up but then Fox goes and signs with Wink for everything non-sports. That leaves us with Liberty.

My personal opinion, based completely on hunch, guess, and assumption, is that most of these content providers are going to sit tight and see who comes out with the best solution. Do people prefer the WGAT type solution where you just go surf the net on your TV? Do people like IATV? Or do people seem to think Wink is ok even though it's got fewer features (do they? I assume so since they're analog, but...) Once they figure out what customers like, they'll go with that interactive software. But this is just a complete WAG and may be completely wrong.

-Mike
