Bill,

The norm is for it not to help. After all the noise and fury that Repubs made against Clinton for lying under oath, it will be very difficult for them to explain to their constituency if they back Bush(again, assuming this is true, which we don't know yet)

The public is tired of all things that smack of impropriety. The proof of that is shown by Gore's actions of tying himself to clinton are backfiring in his face.

The happiest person in the planet to hear this latest news is probably Elizabeth Dole.
