John, Much thanks for your well informed comments. I am forwarding your information to Cabot and the Investor Relations for PRST in hopes for THEIR response. As soon as I hear back, I will post what information they provide.
In this world of constant technological change, it is certain that no one company will dominate any industry. Timing is everything they say and being in the right place at the right time is a key to the attention, hype or whatever is driving PRST's stock. Many say the stock rise is driven by their future earnings on a superb product, others claim it is a momentum play. I do agree that the present earnings DO NOT warrent a price of 162 for PRST, but investors are banking on PRST selling plates and maintaining a position as a leader in this industry with increasing earnings each quarter.
Jack, there are many that do not share your view in regards to the position PRST will hold, as the future technology in print processing changes. They, as well as many experts, believe that a key factor for PRST is their numerous patents and the protection afforded by them. PRST would not have recently expanded their facilities and aquired Catalina Coating with all of their many patents, if they did not believe that they could maintain a secure future for the plate production and their continued use, provided through this company.
I addressed the technology you speak of, with those at PRST that would respond. They implied that the quality and consistency claimed in the direct imaging process, is not yet perfected and is not the quality you state. They have an ongoing review of the patents pending, looking for infringment and will challenge those that do encroach. The claim is that this technology will not challenge PRST for many years. I am not in the printing field, so I am certainly a listener and ready to learn more on your claims. I will be checking out what I can. I obviously have very limited knowledge in this area. I have tried to read and learn all I can about this industry and where it might be in the future. I am sending away for investment literature on the companies you have stated and will obtain assistance in the research befor posting what I find. Anything you can add would be appreciated.
As long as the perception with investors is positive on PRST and the strong momentum in this stock continues on, why would I or anyone else cash in now? Why have the companies you state not commanded the attention of PRST. I will check their stock tonight if they are publicly traded.
For 2 years I have run a continuous 75 day graph on PRST. The stock has NEVER dropped below the 25 day moving average over this period. It has often "touched" this line on many corrections, including the last one and it is then that I have added to my position. It has always been upwards and onwards from there. Never once have been disappointed. Always, I have made money. Until this pattern changes, I will remain invested in PRST.
Thanks again for your input. It is those of you in this field that can bring the technical aspect and future competing processes that make this thread informative and helpful for those looking to invest or short this stock. We are all here to make money I would ope! Comments, both pro and con, are what we all request.
Again, I am hoping for a quick Cabot or PRST response to your claims and thoughtful comments.
Regards,
Neil |
