This is an interesting discussion, and I think you make good points.
I'm often accused of being arrogant, nasty, and much much worse. I don't begin that way, except when a Known Enemy, shall we say, calls me out. But hostilities usually begin pretty quickly, even if all I do is ask if we're dealing with a reporting company or the like.
And then, of course, the longs usually start in with all the rubbish about Powerful Bashers, Evil MMs, and Illegal Shorting. It's enough to try anyone's patience.
For example, there's a guy at RB HITT I'm trying not to yell at. He's not even slightly interested in the backgrounds of people associated with the company, yet feels he has the right to demand that I offer him my life story. He could find out plenty if he had a brain, but evidently he doesn't. All he does is nag, and think, apparently, that it's awfully clever of him to ask me for my address and phone number.
The temptation to let him have it is very strong. And this sort of thing happens on all threads where there's resentment of the "bashers". |
